As director for the Dougherty County Solid Waste Department, Scott Addison is playing a major role in helping future generations and the environment. Since 2002, when he began his career in the solid waste industry, he’s inspected, designed, performed construction management, designed landfill gas to energy projects, and operated landfills.
“I take pride in the fact that the work I do ensures the waste produced today will be safely disposed and will not adversely impact future generations or the environment,” says Scott. “I’m also proud to be a part of the first operational landfill gas to energy project in the US Military.”
Growing up in Walterboro, South Carolina led Scott to appreciate areas rich in history. Considered the lowcountry, Walterboro is abundant with wildlife and rivers, and the coast is only an hour away.
When he’s not working, Scott enjoys family and friends, grilling on his Big Green Egg, playing golf, and hunting and fishing. He’s been married to his best friend, Amy, for 12 years and they have two daughters.
“There is nothing I love more than hearing the laughs and seeing the love between my daughters,” he says.
