Josh Beard joined Cintas Corporation as Advanced Management Partner a little over a year ago after retiring from the Army, and says he loves it because it has given him the chance to get to know local business leaders.
“Being a part of our customers’ growth and helping to sharpen their professional image is what I enjoy the most,” says the Opelika, Alabama, native.
An avid history buff, he admits to getting fixated on a topic and dragging his family along on trips where he can tell them all he’s learned from all the books he’s read. “I’m convinced they love this and that I’m a great teacher!” He appreciates living in an area so rich in culture and history.
An outdoorsman who recently took up kayaking, Josh says he also loves the beach and fishing. But if it’s football season… “You’ll find me in Auburn watching my Tigers play!”
His wife, Kerri, has been with him throughout his entire military career, which included five moves and three combat deployments. They both are happy, he says, to have found such a wonderful, welcoming community to finally plant roots. A pro in jams and preserves, Kerri has her own line available at Livi! They have a 12-year-old son, Jacob.
A little trivia he’d like to share: The movie Norma Ray was filmed in his hometown of Opelika, and it was mentioned by Jessica Tandy in Driving Miss Daisy. A little trivia about Josh: What would be impossible for him to give up? Dr Pepper in a glass bottle.
“No question about it.”
